Revision cards are often used by students to help them to prepare for exams. The principal is that by using the revision cards on a regular basis leading up to an exam/test the student will be able to recall key facts even when in the stressful situation of a test. This is extremely useful for the practical driving test, as it is often the learner's ability to be able to think clearly in a stressful situation that can make the difference between passing and failing the driving test!
Having used these revision cards with many of my pupils, I have seen a noticeable improvement in their ability to remember how to, for instance deal with a particular manoeuvre or type of junction. The best way to use these revision cards is to use them as a guide to thinking through what you have been doing on your driving lessons. If for instance you have been practicing crossroads, using the appropriate card you can think through (visualise) what you did or didn't do so that you are more confident when you next deal with a crossroads. This really helps to reinforce what you are being taught on your lessons, which should result in you needing less lessons and hopefully passing your test 1st time!
